How to choose the right ceiling fan

Elta Trade has a range of ceiling sweep fans that are each beautifully designed and built to perform, but which one is right for you? There are a number of things to consider when choosing the right ceiling fan for your needs.

Here are the four most important considerations to make before settling on your choice:

INSTALLATION

Where your fan is going to be placed may seem like a simple question, but it comes with a lot of considerations that need to be addressed. Will your fan be inside, or outside? Believe it or not, outside fans do have different requirements from your standard indoor ceiling fan.

Outdoor temperature changes tend to be more extreme, and humidity levels are higher. These factors, if not considered can lead to premature wear and tear and result in your fan not functioning to its full capacity.

The Elta Trade Apollo, Iris, and Poseidon series of sweep ceiling fans are all designed for indoor residential and commercial installations.

SIZE

The size of a fan is extremely important when choosing the right fan for your needs. Depending on the size of your room, the size of the fan you require will change.

Larger rooms require long blades, and higher ceilings require extension rods, to make sure the fan is ideally positioned for optimal airflow.

All Elta Trade sweep ceiling fan ranges have blades with a 56” diameter (1400mm) allowing for optimal airflow in areas of large size such as living areas and bedrooms.

If you are unsure about the size of the fan you need, make sure you speak to your local sales person who will be able to point you in the right direction.

ENERGY

The motor and function of a fan plays a big part in how well it performs and how much energy it uses. It is important to find fans that have the ability to create powerful airflow, but at the same time do not use too much energy.

The Apollo and Poseidon ranges provide increased efficiency. This is a result of the symbiotic function of fan and air-conditioning created by the Sweep Fan Series can save you up to 40% in ongoing energy costs.

All Elta Trade sweep fan models are powered by AC motors.

Installing a ceiling sweep fan can offer significant cost savings in energy. Whisper-quiet air circulation creates perception cooling, acting in a similar way to a nice summer outdoor breeze. This is especially beneficial in bedrooms as it means noisy air conditioners can be turned off during the night time. This saves energy and helps towards a good nights sleep.

DESIGN

Just like anything we put in our house, we want to make sure our ceiling fans look great. That’s where design comes in. The Apollo range comes in two colours: gun metal and classic white, the Iris boasts a chic matte black finish and the Poseidon ultra sleek black and metallic look.

But design isn’t just about looks, it also affects the way a fan performs. Each of the Elta Trade sweep fans are designed with a curved blade design, boosting the air circulation throughout each room.

Each fan also has reverse movement functions allowing them to keep you cool in the summer and warm in the winter. Reverse movement controls alter the direction of the air movement to enhance your air-conditioning function, creating a beautiful ambient temperature in your home and saving you on heating costs.

There is a lot to consider when it comes to choosing the perfect sweep ceiling fan for your home, but by considering the options and how they will perform in your space, you can reap the benefits that a sweep ceiling fan can bring to your building.
